I've always found joy in observing the world around me. Watching the ocean waves roll in, autumn leaves drifting in the wind, people strolling by a sidewalk cafe brings me peace and happiness. There is so much beauty in watching life unfold in front of you, unhurried and unprompted.

I approach wedding days with a similar outlook. There's inherent honesty and beauty that comes from the unprompted and unscheduled moments on a wedding day. Old friends reuniting as the ceremony begins, family members sharing old memories from your childhood at cocktail hour, parent's happy tears streaming down their cheeks during the ceremony, and so much more are all rooted in genuine human connection. Leaving room for these moments will result in photos that not only captured how your day looked, but what it felt like to be there.
